Start thinking about how you want your car to look - what is your favorite color? Are you thinking you'd like your car in the shape of a hot rod or a Corvet? The sky's the limit (with some guidelines on weight and size you have to adhere to!).
Scouts will have an opportunity to design their Pinewood Derby cars at the Den Meetings in the third & fourth week of January.

Turkey Dinner and Flag Ceremony Recap and Pictures
According to the Troop 2 Blog, they reported the following information about the event "Thank you to all that joined us at Valley Pines this weekend. We estimate about 120 brave souls enjoyed the day with us. Thanks to all those that made the day possible - those that shopped, cooked, cleaned, and worked to make the event the success it was. The food was fantastic and the weather was not as bad as predicted." Pictures on the blog are great thanks to Joe Keenan and others who snapped photos!

UPDATES FROM PACK 2
This week, the Webelos 1 group will start up on their Fitness Requirements (Ray Carigan and the Den Chiefs will lead this effort). This badge will take some weeks to complete, so for the next two weeks, we will start by meeting on Thursday from 5-6pm in the GYM at the First Church (change of Venue from the Clubhouse). The boys will be instructed to keep a record of their exercise over the next month (Christmas & NY break) and we will also be talking about healthy habits.
We only meet for two weeks and then we are back with the Holiday Pack Mtg on the Wednesday, December 16th at 5:45pm. Anyone who can arrive by 5:30pm and assist with set-up or leave later and assist with take-down would be appreciated.
The Holiday theme is for each scouts to bring at least one pair of NEW socks. We have done this each year and the gift of a hundred pairs of socks is a welcomed gift at our local homeless shelters, so please bring what you are able (Last month, we donated 262 food items and $30 to the Weymouth Food Pantry).
Finally, at the Pack Mtg, we will be decorating cookies, but also will continue with our Knots & First Aid stations (cold weather precautions & frost-bite treatments).

What happened to the apples!!??

From: Brjznab@aol.com [mailto:Brjznab@aol.com] Sent: Tuesday, October 13, 2009 11:39 AMTo: Bruynell, Karen L.Subject: scout made applesauce
Karen, John asked me to update you as to what happened to all those apples the scouts and helpers peeled at the last pack meeting. With a wee bit of help, the apples were cooked with lots of cinnamon overnight in a large crock pot, packaged in 3 large containers, and picked up for the Quincy Crisis Center meal program held daily at the Church of the Presidents. The director was most appreciative and has given us replacement containers should we consider again sending food for the hungry. ~~~Becky, Pack Meeting Community Service Table
