PACK MEETING: THURSDAY - 12/16 at 5:45 - BRING SOCKS!!!

The December Pack Meeting has been changed to Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 5:45 to 6:45 due to Elementary Public School Parent/Teacher conferences. The service project will be socks for the christmas tree. If you are able to, please bring in a pair of new socks to be donated to the Weymouth Family Services.

Webelos - 12/8 - Holiday Party

Webelos will be having a holiday party on December 8, 2010.  The meeting will be extended to 6:45.  We will be having a pizza party along with some goodies. 

IMPORTANT:  We will also be doing a holiday craft.  Could each scout please bring a empty clean can (soup can or vegetable can) that has been 3/4 filled with water.  Please freeze the water in the can so it is solid ice when you bring it the our Den Meeting.

Scout Registration Tomorrow and Thursday!!

Pack 2 Cub Scout Registration for this year will be Wednesday, September 8th and Thursday, September 9th from 630-830 pm each night.  Cost to register as a scout is $65.  Sign-up will take place at the Weymouth Height Club, 598 North Street, Weymouth (http://www.weymouthheightsclub.org/index.html).

Car Wash Was a Success!!

Thanks to ALL the scouts and their families who participated in our car wash last week.  It was a great success.  We had a profit of $280!  Watch the slide show above - pictures will show up on the slide show to the left (or use the back arrows to get to the car wash pictures quicker).

Cub Scout Registration Night - Update

Cub Scout sign-up went quite well on the evening on June 16th.  Thank you to Scott Wallace, Taylor Schiller, Ben Murphy, John Murphy, JB Bruynell, Bud Bruynell, Kathy Dever and everyone who made our scout pack shine.  Our new scouts and returning scouts are sure to have a great experience!!  Those who were not able to make the sign-up to renew membership, we'll keep you posted about our fall registration date.  Have a wonderful summer and a patriotic 4th of July!!

June 19th - Car wash (Fund Raiser)  - 8:30 AM - Noon - 99 Restaurant on Route 18, S. Weymouth - Please come and try to help out even if only for an hour or two!  All boys who help out receives a free ice cream cone.

Aug 6th - Brockton Rox Sleepover - time is running out to sign up. if interested call Catherine McCabe as soon as posible (781-331-2258)

Adult Training Required!!

Hot off the press... a new national policy has just been announced regarding Youth Protection Training. It's official: All registered adults MUST be Youth Protection trained. From now on, new leaders will need to take the training before they register, and print and submit a copy of the completion certificate along with their registration application. All adult leaders must take Youth Protection training every two years.  Check out the link below to the Great Ponds Training News for additional information.

It could be an announcement, story, something you learned and liked about scouting, a picture of something you did at scouts (ie: marching in the parade, of a project you worked on in scouts, etc.). Pack Meeting Details for April 28th, 2010

The Pack Meeting is on April 28th at 5:45.  Our theme this month is Earth Day.

• please bring in old cell phones (w/chargers) and used ink cartrages to recycle
• bring in some project or activity you did at a scout meeting during the year to display at our "show off table"

Early registration!!  Pay NOW and save!!  If you pay at the pack meeting, dues is only $55!!  If you wait until fall registration, dues will be $65 (registration only).  Sign up early and save!!

John Murphy named District Cubmaster of the Year!

John Murphy has been blessed to be named, "District Cubmaster of the Year" for Great Ponds District of the Old Colony Council.  He will receive his award at the awards Dinner scheduled for Friday, May 7th, 2010. This award highlights John's outstanding leadership of Pack 2.  However, in speaking with John, he stresses that ALL the leaders within Pack 2, including the work of the Pack Committee, the Pack Planning Committee, each Den Leader, and all the Den Chiefs, share in this award with him for the outstanding contributions to our Cub Scouts and Pack. 

Quoting John, "I am so appreciative of all of the support that I have received this year from the Scouts, Families and Leaders of Pack 2."

We at Pack 2 ALL feel that John is VERY deserving of this award.  Congratulations John!!

FREE PAWSOX TICKETS FOR THIS SUNDAY, 4/11 @ 1:05 pm!!

Old Colony Council has offered Pack 2 FREE PawSox tickets for this Sunday, 4/11 @ 1:05pm!

We should have more than enough tickets, so if anyone is interested in taking the entire family, then that should be okay. For anyone who is interested, we can distribute through our leaders or by having them available to scout families for pickup at the Weymouth Heights Club starting Wednesday!

Tickets first-come-first served until all the 100 or so tickets are gone!!

Bring Items for the "Birthday Boxes

Becky Egan started the scouts putting together Birthday Boxes. At next month's Pack Mtg on 3/24/10, each scout should bring items (inexpensive) to place in the box (ie: cake mix, candles, frosting, streamers, etc... - - long list) or gift ideas for children like yo-yos, action figures, storybooks, coloring books, etc...

Boxes will go to DOVE, Weymouth Shelter, Children's relief organization and an organization that supports Military families - she has 5 boxes in total to fill, so PLEASE be generous!

There will be sign-up sheets at both the Pinewood Derby and the Pack Meeting for anyone who is interested in going to these events. Payment is due as soon as possible.

Pinewood Derby will be Sunday, 2/21 at 3:00pm

SUNDAY, February 21st from 3-7:30pm at First Church (Bears start at 3pm; everyone else starts at 4:30pm). Meals will be available for purchase, so bring your appetite and support the Pack.

Weigh-ins for the Pinewood cars is scheduled for Wednesday, February 17 from (5-7:00pm) and Thursday, February 18 from 5-6:30pm at the Heights Club- if a scout has difficulty with that time, then they should be in contact with their Den Leader and we will make other, limited arrangements to allow them to submit their cars.

Scout Sunday at Congregation Sha-aray Shalom and First Church

Friday, February 12th at 7:15 pm, the Pack is invited to Congregation Sha-aray Shalom. This is a full uniform event. The Synagogue is located at 1112 Main Street.

Sunday, February 14th at 9:40 am, the Pack is invited to join us at First Church in Weymouth. We will meet in the Narthex. This is a full uniform event - All Pack scouts are invited and encouraged to attend every church event.

George Washington Toma has come through for us in a big way. Last week, we took delivery of a brand new (slightly dented) freezer from George Washington Toma. The freezer is large capacity and should meet all our needs. We will especially use this freezer during our summer camp week (cubs will see it in action when they visit the scouts of Cliff Island this summer). 2/24 & 2/25 - Pack Mtg at First Church with Pinewood Derby races - 2/24 Bear Den racing cars and 2/25 All other Dens racing cars, but ALL scouts should attend both nights if possible.
